As you saw, my business is based in Pleasanton. The absorbents and rags are shipped to Pico Rivera for cleaning at a cost is $2.00 per pound. You may
use UPS, FedEx or USPS to ship the rags. The regulations say there can be no free fluid in the container, nor can there be any toxic or explosive
substance added to the material. That may seem extreme, but many different companies use this system.The best way to ship the rags is to put them into a plastic bag before placing them into a regular box, closed and taped as you would ship anything else.
No special labeling is needed or warranted; the law says this is not hazardous waste if the rules above are followed. Let me know when you ship so I can
alert the cleaning facility, to which I subcontract, to the arrival of the package. The facility lets me know the weight of the rags (minus the container) and
the cost of returning the rags back to you (usually via UPS). I simply pass along the return shipping to you when I bill you. The turn-around time is two weeks.
